Nellie Saxby Colvin, age 89, of Pearl Creek, Wyoming, N.Y., passed away at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. She was born May 5, 1932, in Holcomb, N.Y., the daughter of Kassalee M. Murphy and James A. Saxby. Nellie was a member of Mary Immaculate Parish, St. Mary’s Church, Pavilion, N.Y. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, quilting and playing cards, especially cribbage. She loved her service to the community for 60 years in the St. Mary’s Ladies of Charity, as a founding member and past president. Nellie is survived by her four sons, Eric R. (Darlene) Colvin of Pennsylvania, Randy R. Colvin of Pearl Creek, N.Y., Gregory A. Colvin (Matthew Pacheco) of Florida and C. Charles (Sandy) Colvin of Virginia; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Brian (Anna) Colvin of South Dayton; sisters-in-law, Louise Vier of North Carolina, Janice Colvin of Georgia; very special nephew, William “Bil” Saxby; and many other loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Roger L. Colvin; three brothers, James E. “Bud” Saxby, Thomas F. Saxby and John M. Saxby; and foster sister, Mabel Marion. Friends of Nellie Colvin may call on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 N. Main Street, Warsaw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mary Immaculate Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Pavilion at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Interment will be in Pearl Creek Cemetery.
