The man, the myth, the legend. William R. “Bill” Amedick, 91, of Fredericksburg went to be with his beloved Mary on Monday, Oct. 25, 2021 at his home.

William was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 290. William enlisted and was a Corporal in the United States Army and served with Distinction during the Korean War. He was twice decorated with the Combat Medal and earned a Purple Heart upon being wounded in Combat. He was proud of his military service, but was most proud of the family he created with his wife. His life was

filled with adventure and love.

Survivors include his children, Richard Schunk (Hollie), Daniel Schunk, Charlene Amedick Smart (Rick), Kevin Amedick (Nancy), Lori Amedick Spence, and William Amedick II (Sandy); Bonus sons, Al McClellan

and Eric Niedzwiadek; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Amedick; and sisters, Margaret Loranty and Kathleen Mazzei (Chuck). He was preceded in death by his

loving wife, Mary; son, Robert Schunk; sister, Sis; and brother, Tom.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at

10:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Quantico National Cemetery with a reception after at the American Legion Post 290.
