Dear Editor,

We called them heroes during the worst of the pandemic. Now, the governor has given them the ultimatum of complying with the mRNA injection mandate or lose their jobs without unemployment benefits.

Each person must weigh the possible benefits with the potential side effects of the injection. Many healthcare workers with medical knowledge have decided against it.

It would be well if Governor Hochul would talk to these people and learn their reasons. Maybe she would not be so hasty and sure of herself.

The governor has created a dangerous situation in all healthcare facilities and home care.

With an already existing shortage, it will become worse. People will be deprived of optimal care and needed treatments.

Knowledgeable and experienced healthcare workers are not easily replaced, if not impossible.

Sincerely,

Linda Hyland
