Provided Letchworth grad Ashley Covert, a sophomore catcher at Cobleskill, batted .447 this season with a team leading on-base percentage of .513 earning post-season honors.

WATERVILLE — The SUNY Cobleskill women’s softball team had four players —including Letchworth graduate Ashley Covert — earn 2021 post-season honors from the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) as voted on by the league’s coaches. In their first year of conference membership the Fighting Tigers posted a 7-7 overall record including a 5-5 record in NAC Western Division action.

Covert joins Jillian Nitchman, Jillian Nitchman and Megan Gilligan on receiving the post-season honors.

Covert, a sophomore catcher, had an impressive rookie season with the Fighting Tigers batting .447 with a team leading on-base percentage of .513.

Covert amassed 17 hits on the year including four doubles to go with 13 runs scored and seven RBI during the year. Defensively,

Covert threw out 5-of-8 baserunners trying to steal for a .625 average while fielding at a .925 rate in 40 chances.
