CLIFTON SPRINGS — The ground and pound OAE Express was at it again Monday as the Aggies ran for nearly 600 yards during their 68-0 victory over Clyde-Savannah in Class D action at Midlakes High School. It was 53-0 at halftime.

Three different OAE ball carriers went over 100 yards as junior RB Noah Currier had 149 yards on just six carries with two TD’s; senior RB Aidan Weisbrodt produced 117 yards on just two touches and senior RB Gaige Armbrewster totaled 113 yards on five tries with three touchdowns.

That trio of ball carriers averaged nearly 30 yards a touch.

Other runners also had success as junior RB Connor Scott ran for 74 yards on eight carries with one TD.

Senior RB Jayden Allport ran for a TD and also picked off a pass while junior RB Aiden Warner added a touchdown on the ground.

Defensively, it was another flawless effort as junior LB Brayden Smith was all over the place making six tackles (two for a loss), two INT’s and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.

Senior LB Kameron Cusmano picked off a pass while senior DL CJ Gottler added five tackles including two for a loss.

“In these first two games, our boys have really enjoyed the ‘success by committee’ approach the team is taking,” OAE head coach Ty Winter said. “This was another complete team performance, and we had a lot of guys contributing to the win.”
