John Anderson/For The Daily News | Pembroke’s Tyson Totten takes a run off the edge and into the endzone as part of a five-touchdown effort.

WELLSVILLE — Another year, another Totten leading the way for the Pembroke 8-man football team.

On Saturday, sophomore running back Tyson Totten enjoyed his coming-out party, carrying the ball 13 times for 291 yards and five touchdowns as the Dragons punished Wellsville, 55-26.

“Tyson gives his best effort the entire game,” said Pembroke head coach Jamie Johnson. “He sees the entire field and just has a knack for when to make a cut and get upfield.”

Behind Totten, Pembroke seized a 14-0 lead after the first quarter and a 22-0 advantage at halftime. That was about all she wrote for the Lions, as Pembroke continued to pile it on in the second half.

Senior wide receiver Dakota von Kramer carried the ball twice for 65 yards and a touchdown, senior fullback added a two-yard TD run, and freshman running back Caleb Felski returned a kick 85 yards for a score.

“Our offensive line, Tyler Smelski, Alex Lamb and Jayden Mast created holes so big that our runners weren’t seeing a defender until they got to the second level,” added Johnson.

Defensively, junior Chase Guzdek recorded six tackles, a sack and a pass deflection. Senior linebacker Pete Farrington made six stops and recovered a fumble, while junior defensive back Jacob Dulski finished with five tackles. Sophomore defensive tackle Jayden Mast and sophomore DB Sam Pfeiffer each added a sack.

Next up for the Dragons will be a matchup against Lyons/Sodus in Week 2. According to the Section V website, Lyons/Sodus did not play in Week 1.
