HILTON — Visiting Batavia/Attica picked up four head to head victories against Section V power Hilton, including pins by Casper Stewart (132) and Kaden Marucci (160), as the Blue Devils fell to the Cadets by a 34-26 score Tuesday night in Monroe County wrestling action.

Stewart pinned Hilton’s Nathan Lee in 5:15 to stay unbeaten on the season while it took Marucci just 66 seconds to pin Mike Marasco.

Attica/Batavia picked up major decision victories from Nick Lamkin at 110 pounds after beating Angelo Ragusa 12-4 and Wyatt Kauffman who defeated Jullian Suro by an 11-2 count at 189 pounds.

Batavia/Attica’s Dominic Saeva picked up a forfeit at 285.

A close match that went right down to the wire came at 138 pounds as Hilton’s Nate Eccleston edged Batavia/Attica’s Yaudiel Castillo by a 4-2 score.

Visiting Perry picked up pinfalls from Holden Kelly, Noah Leitten, Devin Royce, Ivan West and Lucas Sears during their LCAA victory over Warsaw Tuesday night.

Winston Sarhle also won via forfeit for the Yellowjackets.

“The boys seemed to be on a mission in this shortened season,” Perry coach Phillip Leitten said.


Both teams won three head-to-head matches but Letchworth picked up a few more forfeits during their victory Tuesday night.

The most competitive match of the night came at 145 pounds as Letchworth’s Chris Shearing defeated Keshequa’s Trey Learn by a 4-2 score.

Letchworth also received pins from Ayden Miller who pinned Clay Davis in 2:45 at 160 pounds and Trevor Jones who pinned Hunter Zangerle in 4:55 at 172 pounds.

Keshequa 152-pounder Sterling Strain won a thrilling 4-2 overtime match over Letchworth’s Ryleigh Duryee.

At 132 pounds, Keshequa’s Ian Deaton pinned Zach Brown in 2:14 while Cesar Batlle earned a tough 9-4 victory over Gavin Kemp at 138 pounds.


Cal-Mum’s Bobby Poles-Harrison pinned Pavilion/York’s Tyler Klein in just 27 seconds at 215 pounds to lead the Red Raiders to the victory Tuesday.

The Red Raiders had three pinfall winners on the night as Isaac Crane (145) and Nick Lenhardt (285) also pinned their P/Y opponents.

Unusual in high school wrestling these days, five matches went the entire six minutes on Tuesday in Caledonia.

The match of the night came at 172 pounds as Cal-Mum’s Joseph Bodley won a thrilling 13-12 match over Robert Haberger.

At 126 pounds, C-M’s Austin Pittman defeated P/Y’s Mason Gray 11-1; at 152 pounds, Seth Gominiak blanked Evan Guck by a 12-0 score; and Garret Thompson outlasted Jonathan King 10-6 at 160 pounds.

The only points Pavilion/York scored came via a forfeit.


Host Lyndonville picked up the convincing victory over Alexander Tuesday as the Tigers earned four pinfalls on the night.

Pinners for Lyndonville included Dillon Burt-Hodgins (145), Sebastian Temich (152), Maddox Stirk (172) and Rodney Davis (189).

Lyndonville big guys Sam Doolan (215) and Avery Wilcox (285) both picked up decision victories.

Alexander got a pinfall from Mitch Gaiser at 160.


Host Avon/Geneseo improved to 4-0 on the season as they picked up six pinfalls during their victory over Dansville Tuesday.

All six of Avon/Geneseo’s pins came in the first period including three — Cameron King (138 in 22 seconds), Ryan Caudill (145 in 29 seconds) and Andrew Caudill (152 in 32 seconds).

Also for Avon/Geneseo, Chris Thompson pinned Gavin Brooks in 1:39 at 132 pounds; William Greenwood pinned Gavin Hart in 1:52 at 160; and Evan Farrell pinned Nathan Lafaye in 1:50 at 189 pounds.

Also for the Braves, Aydan Reid defeated Dansville’s Evan Pruonto 11-0 at 172 pounds.

Dansville’s lone head to head winner came at 118 pounds as Caeleb Kendall pinned Esther Levendusky in 1:04.
