Charges pending after car hits house

DARIEN — Charges are pending after a one-car accident which injured three people, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.

Michael J. Antonucci, 39, of Darien was westbound at 7:02 p.m. Sunday on Erie Street when the vehicle went off the shoulder before striking a utility pole and house, deputies said.

Deputies arrived to find that two of the rear passengers were pinned inside the vehicle. Darien and Corfu firefighters arrived and were able to free them.

Passenger Tanya L. Captain, 34, of Darien was flown to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Antonucci and Shawn M. Kwiatek, 43, of Darien were taken by Mercy EMS to ECMC. Their injuries were also described as non-life threatening.

The accident’s cause remains under investigation.
