Sheriff Rudolph offers pistol permit advice

WARSAW — A town of Warsaw man was jailed after an investigation into a violent domestic dispute Saturday, Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies were called to a house on Route 19 and discovered that Holden W. Byer, 30, had thrown a wooden chair leg at a woman. The leg missed her but went through a wall, deputies said.

Byer also allegedly punched the woman numerous times in the head.

He was charged with attempted second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was committed to Wyoming County Jail with bail set at $10,000.
