BATAVIA — A minivan driver has been ticketed after an accident during which the vehicle struck a small SUV, tipping the SUV onto its side.

Batavia Police shut down parts of East Main Street at around 1 p.m. to investigate the accident, near the corner of East Main and Elm streets after responding to a report of a three-vehicle accident.

The minivan was headed north on Harvester Avenue and the SUV was traveling west on East Main Street. The minivan failed to stop for the red light, police said.

After striking the SUV, the minivan rolled back, striking a third vehicle, which was also heading west on East Main.

No one was seriously hurt, nor was anyone transported by ambulances for treatment. Occupants of the minivan and SUV were transported by personal vehicles to the hospital.

City Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact Officer Girvin at (585) 345-6350.
