Woman approaches deputy, gets DWI charge

PERRY — A Canandaigua woman faces felony charges after she walked up to a deputy who had just seen her driving in Crosby’s parking lot.

Wyoming Deputy Amy Nowak said she saw the woman driving in the lot Monday and moments later the woman approached her patrol car. Nowak said the woman showed “signs of drug impairment.”

And there was a child in the car.

Tiffany A. Boyd, 36, was examined by a drug recognition expert from village of Warsaw police and found to be impaired by “multiple drug categories.”

Boyd was charged with felony aggravated DWI with a child in the car, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, third-degree AUO, unlicensed operation, driving while impaired by drugs, driving while impaired by a combination of drugs and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

She is to appear at a later date in Village Court.
